Stuyvesant HS Class 1980 logo The Daniel Bergstein/SHS'80 Memorial Scholarship Fund

This site was created in 2002 to provide information about a small attempt to remember a friend and classmate—Dan Bergstein. Dan's life was tragically and senselessly taken on September 11, 2001.

On behalf of the Stuyvesant High School Class of 1980, a scholarship fund was established in 2002 to provide support each year, in perpetuity, to promising graduating Stuyvesant seniors. We hope and trust this award will remind future generations that our love of education, freedom, country, and humanity is what binds us together.

As of 2012, the Fund was transferred over to the day-to-day management of the Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association. We're pleased and honored to have ‘come home’, and look forward to SHSAA's professional stewardship of what is the largest single endowed fund at Stuyvesant by Stuyvesant and for Stuyvesant!

Faithfully yours,
Nick, David, Rebecca, Sungkey, Al, Peter and Tim
